Living Prophets

PROFETAS VIVIENTES

LIVING PROPHETS

From the beginning of the world, and throughout the centuries, God has spoken with men. The communication of God with man is called “revelation.” The men to whom God reveals his will are called “prophets.” In ancient times there were prophets on the earth. They were the leaders of the Church of God. Their teachings are the sacred scriptures, that is, the books of the Bible. Today, the churches of the world say that revelation has ceased; that God speaks no more with men like he used to; that there are no prophets in the world. This is the main difference between our Church and the other churches of the world; in our church there are living prophets who are guided by Jesus Christ himself. When God restored the church through Joseph Smith, he began to speak again with his children. He restored his power and began to guide the leaders of his Church. When Joseph Smith died, the Lord chose another prophet to take his place. The present-day leaders of our Church speak with the Lord just as did the ancient prophets such as Moses, Isaiah, Peter and Paul. They are the messengers of the Lord here on earth. The Lord Jesus Christ is the head of our Church.
